Be A Flavor Company Dancer
Adult-friendly rehearsal times.
Giving back to our Southern California communities.
More fun than you've had in a long time.
What kind of dance will I be learning?
It's a surprise! - Kind of.
We're a professional, performing cultural fusion dance company. That means that we learn and perform various cultural dance forms such as Salsa, Merengue, Swing, Jive, Soca/African, Country, 80s and so much more.
Our group is looking for enthusiastic people like you who love to dance, wiggle, encourage others, smile and give back to the community through the joy of movement and music. When you join the Flavor Company, you’ll be a part of an intensely professional, but very fun dance community that embraces all sizes, ages and levels of dancing while giving back to our wonderful community.
This takes commitment.
You start with a 3-month probation period in which you perform Flavor Company Ambassador duties. At the end of that period, if the fit is right, you will be invited to join the team as a dancer.
Do I need dance experience?
Short answer - NO!
All you need is a willingness to learn. If you appreciate great teachers, you're in for a treat. Our Director & Choreographer - Belle Martin - was trained in New York, dances professionally around the world in various dance genres, and brings a quality of instruction usually only seen in cities like New York and L.A. With over 30 years of professional dance performance & teaching experience, you are in good hands under her direction.
What are the commitments?
We may look fancy, but this is a sports team.
Those who join as dancers commit to the following:
Mandatory rehearsal on Sundays from 8am - noon
Two optional rehearsals on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6-8 p.m.
Commitment to attend and perform at various events each month
Commitment to be teachable and receptive to learning new and challenging concepts
Commitment to purchase costumes and makeup. Our audiences LOVE our costumes! Don't worry. You'll accumulate them over time. You don't need to buy them all at once.
Can men attend?
We know. Most of our photos are of the women in the group. But, men are more than welcome! Look how much fun these guys are having.
$150 monthly fee includes:
supplemental workshops/labs (dance genre specifics, body mechanics, performance makeup, costuming, stage presence, etc.)
show booking management.
access to 3x/week morning in-person cross training at the studio
access to video library of online on-demand cross training classes
Dancers pay for their costumes separately from this monthly tuition fee.
There is no fee for the 3 month probation period except for the one-time $20 admin fee.
