Rest? Aren't you a dance company? Shouldn't you be promoting physical activity?
We admit it. All of us on the Flavor Company Dance Entertainment Team are drivers. We're do-ers, type-A personality people. We push ourselves. We're fighters.
In this last year, we've been working on setting rest goals. Our Director, Belle, reminds us that we're in it for the long haul. We're here to dance until the day we die. And, as all athletes know, you can't perform over the long haul if you don't plan rest into your training regime. You will simply burn out.
What does that mean in practice? It means being as disciplined about mental and physical rest as we are about mental and physical work.
