One of the biggest benefits of volunteering is that the more you do it, the happier you become. You don't need to already be happy to benefit from it or participate. In fact, studies show that people who start with lower levels of well-being may get an even bigger boost in happiness from volunteering. - WebMD
On the formation dance team, one of our facorite activites is to volunteer our time and expertise as entertainers. Our Capitain, Chris, was kind enough to bring us this opportunity with the Target team. See us entertaining runners in this year's San Diego Race For Autism at minute 1:32 of this video.
We make a habit of volunteering at least once per month at some kind of event where we can entertian people. As any of you who volunteer know, the thanks you get feels oh-so-wonderful. For example, a few of the things people said to us at this event were:
- Thank you for dancing for us. It made me feel so special!
- I can't believe you danced with my son! He'll remember this forever.
- Your energy just made my day!
